Day 29

During dinner last night, Ken was speaking with Pastor Knight about our travels thus far:  "On this trip, the Lord has been with us in the car, but two things have followed close behind us - our camper and the heat!!"

The heat is not giving up either.  We stopped at Walmart for produce and a couple automotive things, and when I checked for food and water, I realized that we had already gone through 9 cases of water and were down to only a case and a half.  So, three more cases of water were purchased and stored under the table bed. My guess is we will need three more before we arrive home in a little over a week.

We spent the night at Itch-Kep-Pe campground in Columbus, MT.  It was busier than we expected, but was a pleasant no reservation - donation only campground.  There was an informal Bluegrass festival going on.

The morning brought a delicious home cooked breakfast at the Bickel home!  Krystal and I have known each other for over 15 years from online forums.  We have a lot in common and have kept in touch.  Paul and Krystal were excellent hosts, providing wonderful food and fellowship in their lovely home!  All the children had a great time playing together.  We hope to see them again sometime!

Now we are headed to Denver.  This way lets us add Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri to our "been there" map.

We didn't quite know what to think of this - is it a church? Is it a casino?  We don't know, we didn't get close enough to figure it out.

Quick stop at Little Bighorn NM - Custer's Last Stand.

Walking to the 7th Calvary Monument at Little Bighorn National Monument.  It was 96deg and climbing so we didn't do much outdoor exploring.

Boys earning their Jr. Ranger at Little Bighorn.

Wyoming!

Spending the night in Estes Park, CO tonight and going into Rocky Mountain National Park tomorrow morning.

So far, during this trip, we have broken bread with three families along the way, visited 6 US National Parks, 2 Canadian National Parks, 1 foreign nation plus several First Nations, spent a couple fun weeks traveling with my Mom and Dad, seen wonders of Creation, and traveled more than 8200 miles.
