Day 3 - drive long and hard

It We woke up in the Janesville, WI Cracker Barrel parking lot. Today is planned to be a long drive to Minot, ND.  We hit 1000miles around Madison, WI.  Approximately 1/10 of our estimated miles are behind us. About 700 of those 1000 miles were logged yesterday. Wisconsin looks very similar to Western NY - rolling hills of corn fields and dairy farms. Wide  open interstates with very little traffic. Both produce excellent cheddar and ice cream. About 7 miles south of the I-94/I-90 split in Tomah, Wisconsin are these huge rock outcroppings in the middle of the rolling farmland.  We thought they looked pretty cool. The two youngest children finished the road trip scavenger hunt this morning. Today is blue-purple shirt day, ironic as we pass through Vikings country / Minneapolis later today. Minnesota! Picnic at the welcome area in St. Croix, MN Eating all the produce before crossing into Canada. Navigation - hybrid old school atlas and paper copy of The Next Exit, plus...

Day2 - afternoon

7/14/18 1:38p Indiana state line I-80 Illinois and Central Time zone.   Friends 😀😀 Beth and I are long friends - she was one of my bridesmaids and a college suite mate.  So good to see her and her wonderful family again!  We had dinner at the Mongolian Grill then went to a Bass Pro Shop to see the fish. Wisconsin and 10:40pm. Now to park and sleep!  It has been a long, but good day. Oh - for those praying for Zeke, thank you.  He is steadily improving and the swelling is going down! Question of the day:  If Notre Dame Cathedral is in Paris and Cervantes was French, why is the University of Notre Dame the Fighting Irish?  (Thank you Thad for helping me with this little history puzzle!!)
